Dynamic Folder

A dynamic folder is a WebDAV collection whose contents are determined at access time by program logic. It must at least offer of listing the contents and retrieving the listed content with GET. Additionally, new resources may be PUT there or existing resources may be PUT again, replacing the previous content.

This is also known as DET. The data accessed in a dynamic folder can be physical or virtual but typically not executable. A dynamic folder can present mixtures of physical and virtual resources, as is the case with the category view (Item collection in Briefcase). Each dynamic folder exists as a physically existing collection in WebDAV, i.e. has a corresponding row in SYS_DAV_COL. This row specifies the hook functions used to make or manipulate the content.
