What is the difference between Single-Tier and Multi-Tier?

OpenLink Single-Tier drivers conform to the common perception of how ODBC or JDBC drivers are configured. They are installed on the client, customized to a particular database, and use the database vendor's communication services to connect to the database. OpenLink Multi-Tier drivers feature a Generic Driver installed on the client, a Request Broker and Database Agent installed on the server, and use OpenLink Database Independent Networking. The Multi-Tier drivers are more sophisticated than the Single-Tier drivers as they have been developed with enterprise-wide deployment in mind and feature enhancements in areas such as performance, security and configuration management.

What is the Pilot Program and how would I obtain a full, non-expiring license?

OpenLink Software provides evaluators with the ability to download, install and test all products. The Data Access Driver and Universal Server product downloads are accompanied by a fully-functional license which will expire 15 days after download. After a successful test of the OpenLink product, users can purchase the appropriate license and receive a non-expiring license via email. We provide purchasing via our website, by direct contact with an Account Manager, or by contacting sales@openlinksw.com.

What are your payment terms?

Payment must be received within 30 days of the invoice date. The register key will expire if payment is not received within this time period. Orders of $500 or less require payment by check or credit card with order and payment terms are not accepted.
