UDA home page: the trial dialogs the database pages carry in their heroes, here for the main menu's Free Trial dropdown (js/try-lite.js, "hub" mode). Each menu entry picks a database or bridge, then an edition, sets it on the chooser and clicks the hidden openers below, so the choosers have one set of handlers. Without script none of this shows and the menu keeps its plain link.

### Which Edition Do I Need?

Answer these questions to find the right edition for you:

Production's fourth question: shown by js/which-driver.js where a JDBC client reaches a database.

I have an ODBC driver for this database

Do you need to connect a 32-bit driver to a 64-bit database, or vice versa?

Do you need to connect multiple clients to the same data source?

Do you need to implement advanced security features such as ACLs and encryption?

"Try" > "Lite (Single-Tier)": pick an installer in Finder-style columns (operating system > platform > database version > driver version), add details, get the license-generator download link. The options come from www.openlinksw.com/sparql by SPARQL-FED through this site's own endpoint (data-sparql-endpoint); js/try-lite.js does the rest. The shell reuses the "Which Driver" modal classes so both dialogs look and behave alike.

"Try" > "Enterprise (Multi-Tier)": the server components (the Request Broker and the database agent) in the same columns as Lite, then the client components, which can run on another operating system (ODBC or JDBC > operating system > platform), then details and the license-generator link. js/try-lite.js drives both modals.

Bridge Drivers (full-monty, notes/uda.md). Production's /uda has this section ("Bridge Drivers", intro verbatim) with its four bridges, each linking its own page (/odbc/driver/JDBC/, /odbc/driver/ODBC/, /jdbc/driver/ODBC/, /jdbc/driver/JDBC/). The one-line card descriptions and the Databricks/Snowflake note are DRAFT: production names neither.

Lakehouses and cloud data warehouses such as Databricks and Snowflake publish their own JDBC drivers: the ODBC-to-JDBC bridge puts them within reach of ODBC applications and BI tools, and the JDBC-to-JDBC bridge brings Java applications to them through the multi-tier edition.

"Get Connected Today" (production /uda: a free trial through the license generator). Wording adapted (DRAFT): production says "a free 15-day trial" here while every driver page offers a 30-day one, so no length is named. 2026-10-15 (user request): one Free Trial button that works like the main menu's, for the UDA drivers only: database or bridge > edition, each opening its chooser here (js/try-lite.js, data-trial-menu="uda"). Without script it is a link to the license generator, as on production. The per-OS trial pages (drivers/lite/{windows,linux,mac}) stay on the site, since other sites link to them, but are no longer linked from here.

One interface, every generation of client

## The standards that outlived every platform shift

Client-server, the web, the cloud, and now AI — each wave replaced the applications, but not the interface they use to reach data. ODBC and JDBC remain the common language between apps and databases, which is why the newest AI clients speak them too.

### BI tools and desktop productivity

Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and every ODBC-aware analytics tool connect to any supported database through one driver family — with the scrollable cursors and high-throughput fetch paths that interactive dashboards and pivot tables demand.

Why OpenLink UDA

## Connectivity that compounds, not connectivity you rebuild

Production's nine "Why Choose Our Data Connectors?" points (website-matrix/uda/live/uda-features-benefits.ttl, features#*), in production's order, with its headings. Where this page's four earlier points said the same (security, IT investments, DBMS independence, performance features), their text is kept.

01

### Broad ODBC- and JDBC-compliant application support

Handle application-specific idiosyncrasies effortlessly, so your connectors work consistently across a wide range of database clients and tools.

02

### Broad operating system support

Seamlessly connect across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, ensuring your applications run reliably no matter the platform.

03

### Easy integration

Our solutions slide effortlessly into your existing systems, connecting tools and data sources without the usual headaches or complexity.

04

### Enhanced security architecture

Fine-grained, attribute-based access control plus end-to-end SSL/TLS encryption apply uniformly to every consumer — a spreadsheet, a BI dashboard, or an AI agent. New client types don’t create new security review cycles.

05

### Preserve IT investments

The databases you run today become instantly reachable by the newest tools — no migration, no ETL project, no forced upgrade. Open standards mean the data-access layer you installed in one era keeps paying off in the next.

06

### Reduce development costs

Applications written against ODBC, JDBC, or ADO.NET are portable across every supported database. Swap Oracle for PostgreSQL, add a lakehouse, consolidate systems — the application code doesn’t change, and neither does the AI tooling built on top of it.

07

### Secure and controlled access

Apply connection pooling and end-to-end SSL/TLS encryption for complete peace of mind.

08

### Sophisticated functionality

Scrollable cursors, multiple active result sets (MARS), database mirroring, and deferred fetching serve interactive dashboards and sustained agentic query loops alike.

09

### Unmatched performance

Engineered for speed, our connectors minimize latency and provide the high-throughput performance your applications demand.
