The type of meta cartridge. The Sponger supports several different types of meta cartridge. Some act as preprocessors for other meta cartridges further down the meta cartridge pipeline. e.g. NLP meta cartridges may perform named entity extraction to identify certain classes of entities (people, places, organizations etc) which can be used by other meta cartridges as starting points to look up additional information about these entities.
