ODBC Drivers for macOS
Fast, secure ODBC drivers for Excel for Mac and every other ODBC application on your Mac.
OpenLink Lite (Single-Tier) drivers install on the Mac itself and connect straight to your database, with the same ODBC interface on Apple Silicon (M1 and later). Start a 30-day trial for the database you use.
Choose your database#
Each trial opens a short chooser already set to macOS: pick the macOS version, your database version and the driver version, add your email address, and OpenLink’s license generator issues your 30-day trial license and installer.
SQL Server
ODBC driver for Microsoft SQL Server, from version 6 to the current release.
Start a trialUse it with Excel for Mac#
Excel for Mac reaches databases through an ODBC driver installed on the Mac. OpenLink’s drivers are on Microsoft’s list of ODBC drivers compatible with Excel for Mac, so the same driver serves Excel, other ODBC tools and your own applications.
Getting started
- Choose your database above and generate your trial license and installer.
- Install the driver and create a data source for your database.
- In Excel, use the data import from a database, choose the new data source and select your tables.
The UDA page describes the drivers for every other database, and the Enterprise (Multi-Tier) edition, which splits the driver into a client on the Mac and an agent beside the database.
Before you start#
Which Mac processors are supported?
The trial chooser lists the installers available for each database, starting with Apple Silicon (M1 and later).
What is the difference between Lite and Enterprise?
Lite (Single-Tier) installs the whole driver on the machine that runs your application. Enterprise (Multi-Tier) places an agent beside the database and a thin client on the machine that runs your application, which suits shared or protected databases.
Do I need an account?
The last step opens OpenLink’s license generator, where you log in or register to receive your trial license.
